About Us
Perishable Distributors of Iowa, LTD was established in 1982 with the goal to provide a distribution system that would supply quality perishable products to Iowa customers in a cost-efficient and timely manner. From the beginning the company has prided itself on offering fair prices and superior customer service and has experienced great success because of it. Today PDI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hy-Vee Inc., a supermarket chain with sales of more than $11.5 billion and more than 283 retail stores in eight Midwestern states.

Our corporate office and 425,000 square-foot warehouse facility are located on 140 acres in Ankeny, Iowa. We service over 450 customers including, our Contract Delivery and Brokerage services, traveling more than 240,000 miles each week.

With 2020 Fiscal Year sales reaching over $1.5 billion dollars and a product list of more than 7,600 fresh and frozen items, PDI is one of the largest food distribution companies in the Midwest.
